Flood in Murcia and Anti flood plan december 2016
Following the floods of the weekend of the 17 and 18 December 2016 throughout the community of Valencia from Castellon to Torrevieja but also throughout the region of Murcia which is still affected by rains this Monday December 19, 2016.
Anti-Flood plan Level 2 in Murcia
The region of Murcia activated the Flood Level 2 plan on December 19, 2016 as many streets and municipalities are still under a rainy weather and water is struggling to evacuate.
Roads this Monday 19 December are cut to Murcia, Cartagena, Torre Pacheco, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar, Aguilas and Lorca. Also note a motorway cut off due to landslide to access the capital Murcia.
This flood plan is accompanied by a request for help from the Spanish state located in the community of Valencia.
Access to the hospital from the mar menor is also cut off.
Where are the men of the Spanish state against the floods in Murcia ?
These human and material resources are located in the north of Valencia in the municipality of Betera, the region hopes for a rapid deployment but they will not be there before the end of the day.
Indeed for a tourist vehicle it takes 3 hours to do Valencia to Cartagena, surely nearly double for heavy vehicles.
When a return to normal for the Murcia region December 2016
The rain must stop in the afternoon of Monday 19 December and the water should evacuate relatively quickly.
Remember that on flat portions, this region does not quickly absorb the waters! Especially in this season.
The roads will reopen but the damage caused will be definitely repaired only in 2017 ...
