When to go to Estepona
We love the atmosphere of Estepona off season especially in May and October, note that the weather may be slightly disturbed some years.
From the spring in Estepona
Avoid: Holy Week (Semana Santa), which is the national vacancy week in Spain, the country is on vacation and everybody are going to the beaches including those of the Costa del Sol.
Otherwise it's probably our favorite season, days with gentle heat (20 to 27 degrees) and evening in the pedestrian streets of the center parallel to the sea with these typical restaurants and locals who take the taps and beer in the lovely Estepona.
The hot summer climate in Estepona
In summer it's VERY hot on the Costa del Sol and Estepona, the beach is still nice in the second part of the afternoon, in fact when you're lucky a breeze is felt and also it's the time where the sea is the warmest with temperatures in August and early September even up to 30 degrees.
From Autumn in Estepona
September and early October is still summer with days in temperatures rarely below 25 degrees, more local tourists are gone and the place in the front line on the main beach is available from mid September.
After mid October alone lovers of costa del Sol enjoy Estepona yet beautiful days often last late in the year and the all the beach is for you.
In winter in Estepona
Estepona experiences mild winters with temperatures rarely going days at below 15 degrees, consider taking a sweater especially at night or because of the wind, do not forget that it's close to the Strait of Gibraltar.
Our Tips to go to Estepona
Without hesitation May and October, however, even in summer Estepona is one of the few cities in the costa del sol to be livable and warm.
