Heavy rains in Valencia and Murcia December 2016

All of Spain is under the rain on this December 17, 2016 but on the south west of the Iberian peninsula the rain is very strong on all the Mediterranean coast.

The mild weather lately in the seasonal normal has just been caught up by heavy rains from Castellon de la Plana to the beaches of Murcia via Denia and Torrevieja.

A dead man this morning because of this storm ! The walker was in Benidorm near the Cala Finestrat in the south of the city. It was carried away by a burst in the water and he is drowned ...

Precipitation during the storm turned around 70 liters per square meter with gusts at over 70 km per hour.

These precipitations caused some damage and many motorists were saved as in Denia near the Rincon river.

Be careful, heavy local precipitations between Valencia and Murcia still occurs this evening and tomorrow in the south west of Spain and in Balearias Island.

The level 2 against flood is declare on all the area of Murcia because of rain and water than can't go away on the december 19 of 2016.

A phenomenon not uncommon in the Mediterranean during the periods of autumn and sometimes in Spring :

The summits near the Spanish Mediterranean coast retain a cold air and the disturbances arriving from the sea come against this air which cause disruptions on the meeting of the two masses of air.

Note : the weather phenomenon must stop at the end of the day but in the morning of Sunday December the 18th the rain should start again.
