Floods in Costa del sol December 2016

Yesterday afternoon and on the evening of December 4, 2016 enormous quantities of rain fell on the Costa del Sol in Andalusia in Spain.

Malaga, Estepona and Alhaurin de la Torre, one woman died in Estepona (province of Malaga) and one Electrician died at the Linea de la Concepcion in the province of Cadiz.

Garages and houses flooded by these torrential rains of 136 liters per square meters in Estepona in a very short time (4 hours ).

The most affected cities are those of the east coast of Malaga and Cadiz with more than 800 calls to 112 (emergency number).

The AP-7 motorway was even interrupted. Other secondary roads in Cartama and Alhaurin de la Torre were also cut.

The situation will return to normal on December 5 of 2016 and Guadalhorce River will return in bed!

Other roads and incidents took place on December 4 of 2016 in Andalusia in the provinces of Sevilla and Huelva, but with less severity.

The train knows disturbances in the provinces of Sevilla and Cadiz (High-speed line).

There where no floods like that in Malaga history, the biggest before was in 1989, where it rain 24 days between November and December.
